NETWORKING

                                                         NETWORKING

Lesson 1:

INTRODUCTION:

Computer connected together so they share data, application and Hardware Devices are called Networking.

TWO MAIN ARRANGEMENT OF NETWORK:

1.Client/Server

2.Peer to Peer

TOPOLOGY:

In a Network, the geometric arrangements of workstations or nodes and the links connecting the nodes is called "Topology".

THERE ARE THREE BASIC TOPOLOGIES:

1. Bus topology

2. Ring topology

3.Star topology

SHARING  PRINTERS AND OTHER PERIPHERALS

A. SHARING DATA:
B. SHARING APPLICATION
C . COMMUNICATION

NETWORK  COMPONENTS

1.Network Computers
2.Network Interface Cards
3.Network Cables
4.Network connectors
5.Network Soft wares
6.Network Addresses
7.Network Topology

NETWORK INTERFACE CARD

                                                                    A
Network Interface Card or (Network adapter card).Even if only two computers connected to each other then we have also use N.I.C Card.
The card act as interface between computer and the network cable. They manage the flow of network information to and from the Computer.
The N.I.C card is install in the expansion slot of the computer.
The main purpose of N.I.C to send and control the data from computer to a Network and receive data sent to the computer from the Network.
Before data can be sent over the Network , N.I.C must change it from a form that a computer can understand to another form which can travel over a Network Cable.
The interface between N.I.C and computer is parallel interface while the interface between N.I.C
and Network cable is a serial interface.
The parallel interface between computer and N.I.C sends the parallel data transfer(a group of bits send simultaneously called parallel transmission  ).
A 16 bit N.I.C can receive 16 bit transmission at time from the computer Bus.
While 32 bit N.I.C can receive 32 bit transmission at time from the computer bus.
